About Spavalous
Award winning arts editor and photographer, Charlene Peters has been making a business out of traveling for over 20 years. For the past six-plus years, she has worked at GateHouse Media New England as Editor of Special Features.
In 2011, her popular Top 10 list of things to do section was published in the Best of GateHouse book, cited as "innovative journalism." In 2008, her Arts & More section won a New England Press Association Arts and Entertainment award, and in 2007 she was awarded Media of the Year by North Shore Arc for work related to fundraising efforts. This same year she won first place with Suburban Newspapers of America for Best Entertainment/Lifestyle Section.
Charlene is all about being "Spavalous." She freelances as a travel writer for Examiner.com, as Boston City Guide Examiner for Travel, as well as National Destinations Spa Examiner. Her book, "Spavalous," will soon be available on Amazon.com as an e-book.
In addition to writing and photographing travel with a focus on spa, wine and culinary reviews, she is also a consultant for businesses in the industry that want to fine-tune services.
